Softline History

At the end of November, 1995 a team of bold and ambitious graduates of Kiev Polytechnic Institute decided to try their strength in sufficiently new activity of that time – design of corporate information systems oriented towards business processes automation. The first tender was won in 1996 and trading system “Forward” worked out for the Ukrainian Agricultural Exchange is successfully operating up to now.

First profits were fully invested into development: well-known and experienced specialists as well as talented youth were invited. At that, a part of the funds was spent on own programming tool set development. Therefore, multi-purpose Megapolis™ tool appeared in 1997. Constant update and upgrade turned this initially internal product into the biggest Open Source technology within CIS.

As far as the company was developing it started to take part in national and international contests regarding development and implementation of information systems. In 2002 Softline won the tender as a general contractor on project realization “Electronic Government of Ukraine”. Governmental site that we have developed and introduced laid the foundation for the creation of electronic Ukraine.

In 2000, Softline acquired the Quality Assurance Certificate ISO 9000/9001. In July of 2003, Softline acquired new Certificate (No UA2.002.766) confirming correspondence to the ISO 9001:2000 international quality standard. In August 2005, the Softline Company was assessed for meeting the CMM level 3 requirements. In April 2007, the Softline Company was assessed for meeting the CMM level 4 requirements. Further development of the company’s Quality Assurance System according to CMMI requirements, as well as assessment for CMM level 5, are planned.

Traditionally we pay great attention to teaching the users our systems. Since 1997 a certified Training center has been operating where annually 300 persons study on 60 curriculums. The own institute of the planning management has been founded to train our personnel. It is aimed at competence development of the project managers and trains staff reserve to adjust it to international standards in project management area.

Our slogan is “Technologies of success”. We propose our clients success-leading technologies. Systems that we have designed and installed are being profoundly used in state and commercial structures throughout Ukraine – State Employment Office, JSC MACA KYIAVIA, JSC Galakton, c.c. Kievstar GSM, c.c. KyivMlyn as well as in Ingersoll-Rand (Switzerland), Serena Software Inc. (USA). World known companies such as Microsoft, Informix, Oracle, Intel, InterSystem (CACHE), Ross Systems are among our partners.
